Meeting Minutes
March 14, 2012
LAN Party
The LAN party is going to take place Friday, March 16th from 5 pm until Midnight. Please try to spread the word to any of your classes or friends that would be interested in attending. Open to non-Herzing students as well.
Food and drink will be provided at the cost of $5 which then allows you to eat and drink whatever you want for the rest of the night. A friendly reminder to help try and keep any areas you use during the event clean. We do go to school here. If you are willing to do any extra volunteering during the event let an officer know. A list has been started but more help is always appreciated.
IGDA will be sponsoring, during the LAN, a console tournament. As of now the main event will be Super Smash Bros. Brawl. First place will win a gift card to either Best Buy or Quaker Steak & Lube. If additional games are proposed, smaller tournaments can happen with prizes as well.
NOTE: If you are bringing something to the LAN, such as a console, controller, game, anything. Please give it to Jordan or one of the officers, EVERYTHING that is brought in must be accounted for and inventoried. Having it by Thursday will help the event go much more efficiently.
The Raven tour has been pushed back until May 4th due to the size of our group. Will keep everyone updated if this changes.
Still looking for a headcount on paintball, there are sign-up sheets in the front entrance and the student lounge. Once we have a better idea of the amount, the parties involved will get together and iron out the details. The date for the event is still set tentatively for the end of April.
As always, if you have any suggestions or ideas for IGDA please contact Jordan or one of the officers.

Global Game Jam
Another big thanks to Greg Vaughan, Paul Johann, and Aaron Kahn for their help during the event.
We’ve had suggestions about running similar events to GGJ, something Herzing based to keep us continuing to make games. If you have any ideas, or would participate in something like this, be sure to let Jordan know.
Game Competitions
An opportunity for game developers was brought up during the meeting: Ludum Dare. It is a mini-competition, similar to GGJ. More information can be found here, with past, current, and upcoming themes.
Paintball
The paintball event would occur sometime at the end of April, date to be determined. The cost would be $5 for each person. Let Jordan know if you’d like to participate so we can determine if there is enough interest to go through with it.
The LAN Party
Like paintball, we’d like to know how many people are interested in helping out or attending. We discussed putting the Best Buy gift cards we have up for the raffle as well as supplying consoles to widen the game selections available to play. We always need volunteers as well.
Final notes:
Please contact Jordan if you haven’t signed the IGDA Code of Conduct. This signifies you as an official member of the Herzing IGDA.
If you’re interested in paintball, the LAN party, or have ideas on where to take the club such as activities or events, make sure to tell Jordan or one of the executives.
This is your club. What do you want out of it?
